Dryden Smallmouth Bass Fishing Lodges
Vermilion Bay Lodge is located on big and beautiful Eagle Lake in Northwestern Ontario Canada. This is a big lake and known for big fish and the Smallmouth Bass fishery is no exception. This lake is stuffed with gigantic Smallmouth Bass. It's a deep rocky lake and exhibits the typical Canadian Shield rocky structure that is indicative of the best Smallmouth Bass lakes. 2 and 3 pound bass are extremely common and can be caught in great numbers. Their guests who target bass are sure to catch a few in the 4 and 5 pound range. Every year a few lucky guests catch real trophies in the 6 and 7-poud range. Vermilion Bay Lodge is a housekeeping camp with really nice lakefront cottages. They also have great fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Musky.
Wabigoon Lake Outfitters is located across Wabigoon Lake from Dryden and in a remote area, which has way less fishing pressure than the north shore of the lake. Wabigoon is a big lake and is famous for its gigantic fish andSmallmouth Bass. Wabigoon stuffed with Smallmouth Bass. Smallmouth Bass can be caught in great numbers and many of our guests catch an impressive amount while fishing for other game fish. Rocky points and shoals produce non-stop action with bass of every size all the way up to trophies over 22 inches. Indian Point Camp has cozy housekeeping cottages with fully equipped kitchens. The camp also offers a weekly complementary buffet featuring delicious home-cooking. Fishing for Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Perch and Crappie is also excellent.
Rugby Lake Lodge is located an hour's drive north of Dryden and about 1.5 hours from Vermilion Bay, Ontario. Rugby Lake is one of the most northern lakes where you will find Smallmouth Bass. They showed up in the lake around 1990 and their numbers grew like wildfire. Today guests can expect to catch on average around 30 per day in the 1 to 3 pound range. There are lots of 4 and 5 pounders caught and a few times a year a 6-pounder gets caught. The Smallmouth Bass fishing gets better every year because the lake was made for smallmouth. There is an abundance or rocky shoreline, sand bars and feeder streams making this an awesome fishing lake. Ruby Lake Lodge is a small family-owned fishing camp with comfortable lakefront housekeeping accommodations. They also have fantastic fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and Crappie with boat caches on remote lakes including a Lake Trout lake.
Merkel's Camp is located between Dryden and Dinorwic Ontario and on the north shore of Wabigoon Lake with close access to Dinorwic Lake. Both of these lakes are considered among the best Smallmouth Bass fishing lakes in Ontario. Smallmouth Bass can be caught in the hundreds between 1 and 4 pounds. Monster trophy Smallmouth Bass in the 5 and 6-pound class get caught by guests almost every day and occasionally 7-pounders get caught. They have 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom lakeside housekeeping cottages on Wabigoon Lake as well as a drive-to outpost camp on Little Basket Lake.
Bonny Bay Camp is located on the famous Wabigoon Lake, which is well known all over North America for it's monster size Smallmouth Bass. Not only do the Sallmouth Bass get big, there are tons of them. You can find schools of smaller Smallmouth Bass and catch a bass every cast for hours. Not traveling in schools are the big trophies that can be consitantly caught in the 5 to 6-pound range with even the odd 7-pounder. Check out their photo gallery. That says it all. McIntosh Lodge - is a beautiful little family run lodge on famous Canyon Lake, which is north of Vermilion Bay and west of Dryden. The lake is famous for high numbers of Smallmouth Bass as well as big Smallmouth Bass. Smallmouth Bass in the lake are common in the 14 to 17-inch range but there are many bigger bass caught by guests each week. If targeting Smallmouth you should catch quite a few in the 3 to 5-pound range and once in a while a bass over 6 pounds gets caught. John will make sure you have the right baits for Canyon Lake and he will set you up with maps to the hottest bass spots on the lake. They have super nice lakefront housekeeping pine cottages with a beautiful main lodge for card playing or watching the big game on satellite TV. Their rates are very reasonable.

Birch Dale Lodge is located on Eagle Lake, south of Waldhof and Vermilion Bay and just west of Dryden. They have outstanding fishing for Smallmouth Bass. In the spring, the main location for spawning is right near their camp. You can catch your limit in a couple of minutes. People go there for the trophies. Smallmouth Bass are common in the 1 to 4-pound range with many 5,6 and 7-pound Smallmouth Being Caught. They offer housekeeping cabins and a restaurant where you can order anything you want and even cook your own steaks.
Indian Lake Lodge is located on the famous Indian Chain of Lakes, which is north of Vermilion Bay, Ontario and not far from the Manitoba border. From their lodge you have nine lakes to boat through. There is one special lake named Brownie Lake, which you need to portage to. This lake gets very little fishing pressure. As a result the rocky shorelines are teaming with Smallmouth Bass. If you target Smallmouth Bass you should catch good numbers with them being most common in the 2 to 5 pound range. There have been Smallmouth Bass over 6 pounds caught and released and there is no reason why something bigger can be caught.
